Cecilia “CeCe” Slack

CECILIA SLACK – “CeCe”

Cecilia Doyle Slack was born on June 18, 1918 in Tenafly, NJ.  She was a retired protocol secretary with the U.S. Civil Service living in Perryville, MD.  CeCe was a long-time member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Aberdeen and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Harford County, Division1.   She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Earl V. Slack.  She treasured her marriage to Earl and enjoyed being an Army wife, traveling all over the world with him.  CeCe passed away at the age of 101 on January 24, 2020 in Chapin, SC where her son, James, and his family live.

In 1986 when Harford County, Division 1 was struggling to get off the ground, CeCe became a Charter Member and was instrumental in its formation.  She was a lovely, charismatic lady who cherished her Catholic Faith and was very proud to be Irish.   Members, who knew her, remember her with great fondness.  She put her heart and soul into every activity and when she spoke, everyone listened because she could eloquently put into words what they all felt.  Members experienced a loss when she had to leave the division because she could no longer hear well enough to participate.   She continued to financially support the LAOH for years, even when she moved to South Carolina.  She will be missed.
